Diego Milito was shocked by the exclusion of Carlos Tevez from the Argentina squad following his brilliant form for Serie A champions Juventus.
But instead the former Manchester United and Manchester City playmaker was overlooked, much to Milito’s dismay. “Yes, Carlitos is an amazing player,” said Milito, our Sony expert following Argentina at the World Cup. “He has shown that everywhere he has gone. He’s a winner and obviously I was not surprised by his performances in Italy.
“He had the chance to go to a club like Juventus, a team put together by a great coach and obviously with his quality he enhanced the performances of Juventus, but I was not surprised at all because I know his quality.
“As for the question of Sabella and the possibility of having called him up, it is difficult because he obviously has the merits to be in the team. If you ask me I think that he deserved to go to the World Cup.
“But as happens in every World Cup, there is always some injustice and the coach is always to be blamed for leaving out some player who deserved to go.
“But I think that’s a coach’s decision and now we have to support the guys who go to Brazil representing our country and we have to be all together for Argentina to win again.”
